Waiting List/Pre-Birth Deposits - We do keep a waiting list of persons who wish to be notified of an upcoming litter. If you'd like to be added you can email us at vtgoldretrievers@aol.com. You can view some of our favorite past litter photos here.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Litter Announcement: Once a litter is confirmed we post the announcement on the home page and send out an email to each person on the waiting list along with the estimated delivery date. As the time approaches we may also post announcement advertisements on various pet sites.
Pre-Birth Deposits: We accept only one female and one male deposit prior to birth. This gives you the option of "reserving" a pup with a desired physical attribute at birth such as first born, largest/smallest, darkest, etc.
Birth Announcements: Once the pups arrive we notify those on the waiting/deposit list. Group photos and website announcements are usually posted the following day.
Choosing A Puppy - Individual Puppy photos are posted within a week of birth and are updated weekly. You may choose a pup from the posted photos, or are welcome to make an appt. for an in-person visit.
Deposits/Contract: A Deposit of $200 is required to hold your puppy and ALL pups are sold with a contract for the protection of the puppy, seller and buyer. Two copies will be sent to you for signing once a deposit has been placed and should be returned to us as soon a possible. We will sign your copy and return. If you are picking up your puppy in person you will need to bring your copy with you for final signing.
Your Puppy - Your name, (and pups name if known) will be listed under his/her photo which will be updated weekly so that you and your family/friends can track his or her progress. You will also receive occasional updates/photos by email and will be able watch short video clips of the pups at play. (Watch a past litter here)
Final Payment - If you will be picking up your puppy in person the remaining balance due must be paid in cash or via a certified bank check. If your puppy will be flying your final payment must be received at least 1 1/2 weeks prior to the estimated flight date. This allows us to purchase the crate, obtain the health certificate, line up the flight and get your puppy care package to you in advance of the pups arrival. Payment by Paypal is recommend.

Your packet will also contain other items we've found helpful/useful. Occasionally puppies become attached to certain toys/cuddle objects, if your pup has formed such an attachment it will also be given to him/her to take along to their new home.
In Person Pickup - we do ask that you make an appointment to pick out or pick up your puppy to ensure that we have set aside some "quiet time" and are available to answer your questions, complete any paper work necessary, and if picking up, have your care package ready.
If Your Puppy Will Be Flying - you will be sent your puppy care package about one week prior to the scheduled fly date. We will do our best to arrange shipment on a date that works best for you - please keep in mind, however, that all puppies must be 8 weeks of age or older in order to fly. Your shipping fee includes an airline approved travel crate, veterinary health certificates and departure at our end via Delta. Any unexpected expenses encounter enroot or at delivery are at the expense of the buyer. We will keep you informed as to the date and flight information - it is your responsibility to ensure you are there to pick up to the puppy to avoid additional expenses.
